I agree, those DIY sprays can be surprisingly effective for basic protection. While they won't replace a proper wax or ceramic coating, they're great for temporary use—especially if you're heading somewhere with harsh conditions like camping or road trips. From an insurance standpoint, keeping your vehicle clean and protected actually helps preserve its value, which can be beneficial if you ever need to file a claim. Small investments like these sprays can pay off in the long run, even if they're not exactly showroom-level results.

- Totally agree on DIY sprays being wallet-friendly lifesavers—especially after my last camping trip turned my car into a bug graveyard.
- But honestly, does anyone really think insurance adjusters notice if your car's shiny or not...? Seems optimistic to me, lol.

Haha, seriously doubt an adjuster cares if your car's sparkling or crusted in bug guts—unless they're secretly judging your camping choices. But hey, DIY sprays are legit lifesavers. I once drove through a swarm of gnats on my first road trip after getting insurance...thought I'd need therapy after seeing my windshield. Anyway, glad you found an insurance company that's not driving you up the wall. Gives me hope as a newbie navigating this insurance maze.

Interesting point about adjusters not caring about cleanliness—I suppose that's true, though I've always wondered if a pristine vehicle subtly influences their perception of how well you maintain your car overall. Maybe it's just my paranoia speaking, but I tend to err on the side of caution (and frequent car washes). Curious though, does anyone think insurance companies factor in vehicle type or brand when setting premiums? Owning a luxury car myself, I've noticed some eyebrow-raising quotes...

Totally agree with you on the cleanliness factor—adjusters might not openly admit it, but subconsciously, a spotless car probably gives them a sense of meticulous maintenance. As for luxury vehicles affecting premiums, they definitely do. Insurance companies typically look at three main things: repair costs, theft rates, and accident statistics. Luxury cars usually have pricier parts and specialized labor, so insurers bump up premiums accordingly. I've seen some crazy quotes myself...sometimes feels like we're paying extra just for the badge on the hood.
