Yeah, roadside coverage can be pretty hit-or-miss depending on the insurer. I've seen some policies that look great at first glance but then limit you to just a couple of calls per year or exclude certain services altogether. Definitely worth double-checking the fine print if you're accident-prone (no judgment, I'm right there with ya...). Also, some credit cards offer decent roadside assistance perks—might be worth looking into as a backup option. Glad you're all set now, though!
Credit card perks can be handy, but honestly, I wouldn't rely on them as a backup for roadside assistance. Had a flat tire last year and tried using my card's roadside perk—turns out they only covered towing within 5 miles, anything beyond that was on me. Ended up paying way more than expected. I'd rather pay a bit extra upfront for a dedicated roadside plan and know exactly what's covered... peace of mind is worth it, IMO.

Yeah, learned that the hard way myself. Last summer my battery died in the middle of nowhere, and my card's perk had so many exclusions it was basically useless. Now I just stick with AAA—worth every penny for the peace of mind alone.

Yeah, that's exactly why I stopped relying on credit card perks for roadside assistance. A couple years back, I got a flat tire late at night on a rural road—called the number on my card thinking I was covered, but nope... turns out tire changes weren't included. Ended up paying out-of-pocket anyway. Now I just budget for AAA every year. Honestly, knowing exactly what's covered (and what's not) is worth the extra few bucks.
Yeah, credit card perks always sound great until you actually need them. I had a similar issue with rental car coverage—thought I was all set, but turns out the fine print excluded SUVs, which is exactly what I'd rented. Ended up paying extra at the counter anyway. Makes me wonder if anyone's ever actually benefited from these perks, or if they're just marketing gimmicks to get us signing up for cards... Anyone had a perk that actually came through when needed?
