From what I've seen, accident forgiveness usually kicks in for bigger stuff—like actual collisions or more serious damage. Cracked bumpers and minor scrapes often fall under your deductible anyway, so insurers probably won't even bother applying forgiveness there. Honestly, if you're filing claims for every little ding, your rates might jump regardless of forgiveness. Learned that the hard way when my cousin reported every scratch... let's just say his premiums weren't pretty afterward.

Good points overall, but I'd add a couple things:

- Accident forgiveness sounds nice, but insurers aren't charities. They'll find ways to recoup costs eventually.
- Filing small claims is usually pointless—your deductible eats it anyway, and your premiums get dinged.
- I had a cracked windshield once, thought about claiming it... mechanic buddy told me I'd pay way more in the long run.

Makes me wonder though, anyone know if windshield repairs count against you in Arkansas or are they treated differently?

Windshield repairs usually fall under comprehensive coverage, and in many states—including Arkansas—they're treated differently than collision claims. I've had mine replaced twice without any premium hikes. Might wanna double-check your policy fine print though... insurers vary.

Yeah, that's solid advice. Had a similar experience last summer driving through Arkansas—rock flew up from a semi and cracked my windshield pretty bad. Called my insurer expecting the worst, but turns out comprehensive covered it fully, no deductible or premium bump. Still, buddy of mine with a different company got dinged with a deductible. Definitely pays to read the fine print before hitting the road.

Good tip, and yeah, comprehensive usually covers windshield stuff. But I've heard some luxury brands require OEM glass replacements only, which not all insurers fully cover... anyone run into that issue?
