- Totally get it, comp is one of those things you think you'll never need...until you do.
- Had a similar moment last winter—my trusty family wagon (aka the minivan) got nailed by a flying trash can lid during a windstorm. Seriously, who knew plastic could do that much damage?
- Insurance stepped in and covered the whole thing, no hassle. Felt like winning the lottery, minus the cash prize.
- Lesson learned: Murphy's law loves cars almost as much as toddlers love Cheerios under seats...

Man, hearing your story makes me rethink my "it'll never happen to me" attitude toward comp coverage. Flying trash can lids, huh? Guess anything's possible. Glad insurance actually stepped up for you—maybe it's worth another look after all...

Had a similar wake-up call myself last year. Always figured comprehensive was just extra padding for cautious drivers—until a deer decided to sprint directly into my path on I-40. No avoiding it, no matter how quick your reflexes are. Insurance covered the repairs without hassle, but it definitely made me reconsider my assumptions about risk. Sometimes it's not about your driving skills; it's just plain luck...or lack thereof.

Totally feel you on the deer thing—been there, done that, got the dented bumper. But here's a question: ever had a raccoon completely wreck your radiator? Happened to me last summer near Little Rock. Thought I was good with just liability coverage (living dangerously, I know), but man, did that little critter teach me otherwise. Who knew something so small could cause so much damage?

After that fiasco, comprehensive suddenly didn't seem like such a waste of cash anymore. And it's not even just wildlife—what about hail storms or random tree branches deciding your windshield looks comfy? Sometimes I wonder if my car's secretly got a target painted on it...

Had a similar wake-up call myself—thought comprehensive was just another upsell until a random chunk of tire tread flew off a semi and cracked my headlight near Fayetteville. Makes me wonder, is there even such a thing as being too cautious on Arkansas roads?
