Yeah, the zip code thing drives me nuts too. I’ve got a car that’s worth more than my first house, and it spends most of its life under a cover in the garage. Still, my insurance is through the roof just because of where I live. I get that they’re playing the odds, but it feels like they’re lumping everyone together—doesn’t matter if you’re careful or barely drive.
I’ve tried shopping around, mentioning the low mileage and secure parking, but like you said, it barely makes a dent. Sometimes I wonder if they even read those details or just check a box and move on. Maybe if I parked it in a vault and wrapped it in bubble wrap, they’d knock off a few bucks... but probably not.
It’s just one of those things where you do everything right and still get dinged. Guess we’re paying for our neighbors’ bad luck—or bad driving.
