Lately I've been letting my roommate borrow my car here and there, you know, just short trips to the store or whatever. Didn't think much of it at first, but now I'm realizing the insurance stuff in AZ is kind of a mess. Like, I assumed if someone else drives my car and something happens, my insurance would just cover it, right? But apparently it's not always that simple. I tried reading through my policy and honestly, it's like reading another language. Called my agent and got even more confused—something about permissive use and liability limits, blah blah blah.
I mean, I just wanna be nice and let a friend borrow my wheels without worrying about getting screwed over if they ding someone else's bumper or something. Now I'm second-guessing every time someone asks to borrow my car. Feels like it shouldn't be this complicated.
Anyone else run into this kind of hassle or am I just unlucky with insurance companies?
