I've actually looked into something similar before, and from my experience insurers tend to stick mostly with factory-installed safety features when calculating discounts. I installed aftermarket fog lights and an engine block heater last winter—definitely improved my driving confidence—but my insurance provider didn't consider these upgrades as discount-worthy. I tried the classic car insurance route for my modded Subaru a couple years back—figured it'd save me some cash. Turns out, they were pretty strict about mileage limits and storage requirements, which didn't really fit my daily driver lifestyle. Ended up going back to regular coverage after a few months. Might work better if your Mustang's more of a weekend cruiser, but if you're driving it daily in AK weather...might wanna double-check the fine print first.
