I get where you're coming from, but honestly, accident forgiveness saved me big-time a couple years back. Hadn't had an accident in forever, then bam—icy roads got me. Without it, my rates would've jumped way more than the extra I'd been paying. It's one of those things you don't appreciate until you need it, ya know? Just something to think about.

I'm usually all about saving a buck too, but Ohio winters can be brutal. Had a close call myself last year—black ice outta nowhere. Managed to avoid a crash, but it got me thinking... maybe accident forgiveness isn't such a bad idea after all. Still debating if it's worth the extra cash, though. Guess it depends how lucky you're feeling, lol.

I've been debating this myself lately. Accident forgiveness sounds good on paper, but does anyone know how much your premium actually jumps after one accident without it? If it's a huge hike, maybe the extra upfront cost is justified. I drive daily, and honestly, with Ohio roads, feels like it's just a matter of time...

I'm actually looking into this right now too, since it's my first time buying insurance on my own. From what friends have told me, one accident without forgiveness can bump your premium quite a bit—like 20-30% sometimes. But I guess it depends on the insurer and your driving history. Honestly, Ohio potholes make me nervous every winter... Has anyone noticed if smaller incidents like fender-benders affect rates as much as a full-on accident?

I was wondering the same thing myself because I'm also new to buying insurance solo. Honestly, the whole "accident forgiveness" thing sounds great in theory, but I'm still skeptical if it's worth the extra cost. A friend of mine had a pretty minor fender-bender last winter—nothing serious, just a little bumper damage from sliding into someone at a stoplight (thanks again, Ohio ice...). Anyway, she didn't have accident forgiveness, and her premium jumped up noticeably. Not as much as a full-blown accident, but still enough to make her grumble every month when the bill came in.

On the flip side, my cousin had accident forgiveness and got into a similar minor scrape—his rates didn't budge at all. He swears by it now, but I'm still on the fence. I mean, how often do we really get into accidents? But then again, Ohio winters are no joke, and potholes here seem to multiply overnight. I swear they breed like rabbits.

From what I've gathered talking to people, insurers seem to treat smaller incidents differently depending on your driving history and how long you've been with them. If you're already considered a "safe driver," a minor bump might not spike your rates too badly. But if you're newer or have a spotty record, even a tiny accident could sting.

Honestly, I'm leaning toward biting the bullet and getting accident forgiveness just for peace of mind. It's probably one of those things you grumble about paying for until you actually need it—then you're suddenly grateful it's there. But who knows... maybe I'm just being overly cautious since it's my first time navigating all this insurance stuff alone.
