Which is better for SR-22 in ND: local agents or online companies?

I hear you on the paperwork headaches—had a similar issue with an online provider a couple years back. They promised “instant filing” but it took days, and I only found out there was a problem when the DMV sent me a suspension notice. Local agents might cost a bit more, but at least you can hold someone accountable face-to-face if things go wrong. For something as critical as SR-22, I’d rather pay a little extra for peace of mind than risk another mess-up. Maybe some folks have had better luck online, but for me, it’s not worth the gamble.

I get where you’re coming from—when it comes to something as serious as SR-22, the last thing you want is a paperwork screw-up. That “instant filing” promise sounds great until you’re the one getting a nasty surprise from the DMV. I’ve always leaned toward local agents for that exact reason: if there’s a hiccup, I know exactly who to talk to and they usually sort it out fast.

But here’s the thing—I’ve heard some folks say online companies have gotten better lately, with more reliable tracking and faster turnaround. Maybe it depends on which company you use? I’m still skeptical, though. Like you said,

“for something as critical as SR-22, I’d rather pay a little extra for peace of mind than risk another mess-up.”

Has anyone actually had a smooth experience with an online provider in ND? Or is it just hit-or-miss depending on luck and which company you pick? I’m all for saving money, but not if it means risking my license over some glitchy website...

I hear you on the peace of mind factor. That line you quoted—

“for something as critical as SR-22, I’d rather pay a little extra for peace of mind than risk another mess-up.”
—really sums it up for me too. I’ve seen a few cases where online providers did get the SR-22 filed quickly, but if there was any issue, getting a real person to fix it was a hassle. Local agents might cost a bit more, but when you’re dealing with the DMV and deadlines, having someone who knows the ropes is worth it. I’m all about saving money, but not if it means risking my license over a technical glitch or slow response.

Honestly, I’ve tried both routes—online and local—and I get where you’re coming from. When I had to get my SR-22 last year, the online company was fast at first, but when the DMV said they never got my paperwork, it turned into a nightmare of emails and phone calls. Ended up going to a local agent anyway just to sort it out. Paying a bit more stung, but having someone who could actually walk me through the steps in person made all the difference. Sometimes convenience isn’t worth the stress.

Yeah, I get that. I always wonder if the extra cash is worth it, but after dealing with phone trees and “your call is very important to us” for hours, I’m starting to think it might be. Last time I tried online, I swear my paperwork went into a black hole. Local agents might cost more, but at least you know who to bug if something goes sideways.
