Would renovation debris affect a classic car’s coverage while it’s garaged?
If a classic car is kept in a garage during renovation work, how does a Nationwide classic-car policy treat damage from things like falling debris or a contractor’s activity? I’m wondering whether comprehensive or collision coverage applies, or whether the policy has separate terms for a car stored at home.
Would it matter if the car had to be moved temporarily or driven now and then to keep the work area accessible? I’d want to know how the policy defines storage and permitted use, and whether either change needs to be reported to Nationwide before work starts.

The temporary move or occasional drive may matter if the policy ties eligibility to a stated storage address or limits mileage or use. I wouldn’t assume that a car kept at home automatically meets the policy’s definition of “stored.” Check the Nationwide policy and any endorsements for those specific terms, then ask Nationwide whether the planned location or driving needs to be reported before the work begins.
