How does Kansas PIP medical-expense coverage usually coordinate with a driver’s health plan? I’m unsure whether the PIP insurer is generally billed first, or whether the order depends on the coordination wording in the auto policy and health plan.

I’d also like to understand how the PIP deductible and remaining benefit limit affect that sequence. If a medical provider bills health insurance first, could that change what PIP pays or what the patient may owe? I realize medical-expense benefits are separate from PIP wage-loss benefits, so I’m asking specifically about medical bills. Which policy terms or insurer contacts are most useful to check before assuming a bill will be covered or reimbursed?

I thought rates only went up for younger drivers, not us “seasoned” folks. I tried calling around but got a lot of confusing info about discounts and safe driver programs. Has anyone else in Kansas run into this? Did you find any tricks or companies that actually give seniors a break, or is it just wishful thinking?

Had to deal with getting an SR-22 filed here in Kansas recently and figured I'd share how I got through it. First step was calling my insurance agent (yeah, fun times) to see if they even offer it. Luckily they did, but had to pay a fee upfront. Then they filed it electronically with the state, took maybe a day or two. After that, just had to keep paying premiums on time for three years straight - no slip-ups allowed. Anyone got tips or shortcuts to make this less of a headache?

Was scrolling through my feed earlier and saw this local news piece about how more Kansas drivers are opting for comprehensive collision coverage lately. Apparently, it's because repair costs have shot up like crazy, and folks are worried about getting stuck with huge bills after an accident. Made me wonder if it's really worth the extra cost each month...I mean, I get it, but still feels like insurance companies always find a way to wiggle out of paying anyway. Curious what you guys think - is it worth it or nah?

Just saw on the local news yesterday that Kansas is rolling out some new rules around registering your car and proving insurance coverage. Apparently, they're tightening things up because of a rise in uninsured drivers or something. From what I caught, they're gonna start cross-checking registration info with insurance databases more frequently, and people could face fines or even suspension if their insurance lapses.

Honestly, I'm kinda torn about this. On one hand, yeah, uninsured drivers are a pain - had a buddy who got hit by someone with no insurance and it was a nightmare sorting it all out. But on the other hand, I'm not thrilled about yet another layer of bureaucracy to deal with every year. And knowing how smoothly government databases tend to run (sarcasm intended), I'm a bit worried about glitches causing headaches for folks who actually do have coverage.

Curious what others think about this move. Good step forward or just more hassle than it's worth?
