decoding the mysteries of adjuster paperwork
I was thinking earlier today... what if you got an adjuster's report after some damage to your house or car or whatever, and it looks like it's written in another language? You know, full of jargon and weird abbreviations. Would you just nod along and pretend you get it, or would you call them back and ask for a translation into plain English? I feel like I'd be too embarrassed to admit I have no clue what they're talking about, lol. How would you handle it?

I wouldn’t just nod along. Ask them to walk through each line item: what work it covers, how much is included, and what’s excluded. That makes it easier to spot gaps or anything that needs clarifying before you agree to the estimate.
